Two Becomes One | Vajradhara Shakti Statue That Embodies the Sacred Union of Wisdom and Bliss
Gold, intimate, and trembling with the deepest secret of Vajrayana Buddhism, this magnificent Nepalese Vajradhara Shakti captures the primordial union of wisdom and compassion in eternal, inseparable embrace — a gemstone-adorned masterwork of sacred art that transforms every space it inhabits.
Why This Statue?
This Vajradhara Shakti commands immediate reverence through its rich, continuous 24K gold gilding punctuated dramatically by a deep navy-black upper body — a striking visual tension that mirrors the union of opposites at the heart of tantric philosophy. Genuine emerald, ruby, and lapis gemstones set into the crown and ornaments deliver extraordinary Himalayan gemstone richness. Intricate hand carvings across the robes, lotus throne, and base reveal layered artistic mastery achievable only through Nepal's most devoted Newar craftsmen working through the sacred lost wax method.

Who Is Vajradhara Shakti?
Vajradhara Shakti — Yab-Yum in Tibetan — depicts the primordial Buddha Vajradhara in sacred union with his consort Prajnaparamita. In Vajrayana Buddhism, this yab-yum (father-mother) embrace is not physical but profoundly philosophical — representing the inseparable union of upaya (skillful compassion) and prajna (transcendent wisdom) that together generate the supreme bliss of enlightenment.
Key Features: Eyes, Hands, and Sacred Posture
Both figures' eyes rest in deep, inward meditative absorption — their gazes dissolving into the shared space of non-dual awareness. Vajradhara's arms wrap around his consort in vajrahumkara embrace, holding the vajra and ghanta — thunderbolt and bell — the inseparable symbols of method and wisdom. His consort encircles him with arms and legs in yab-yum posture, holding a crimson lotus and small vajra. Together, seated upon an ornate double lotus throne flanked by golden makaras, their intertwined golden forms embody the living reality of non-dual bliss and emptiness unified.
Sacred Symbolism and Meaning
The golden body of Vajradhara radiates the indestructible compassion of enlightened method; the dark consort embodies the vast, empty luminosity of prajna — wisdom as boundless as space. Emerald gemstones evoke the growth of enlightened qualities; rubies channel vital spiritual life-force; lapis mirrors the infinite depth of sky-like awareness. Their union is the universe's most sacred equation: bliss plus emptiness equals liberation.
Sanskrit and Buddhist Wisdom
The Hevajra Tantra declares: "The supreme state of non-dual bliss arises only when wisdom and compassion are united — as inseparable as fire and heat." Vajradhara Shakti makes this teaching not a concept but a living, golden, gemstone-adorned reality.
Sacred Mantra
“Om Ah Vajradhara Hum Phat”
Meaning: "Om, the primordial vajra-holder, Ah (purifying body, speech, and mind), Hum (indestructible awareness), Phat (severing all obstacles to the union of wisdom and bliss)."
