Who is Guru Rinpoche? 

Guru Rinpoche, meaning "Precious Master," is the legendary Buddhist master who brought Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century. His two consorts, Yeshe Tsogyal and Mandarava, were not merely companions but accomplished masters in their own right. Yeshe Tsogyal, his primary Tibetan consort, became a great teacher who preserved his teachings for future generations. Mandarava, the Indian princess, attained immortality alongside Guru Rinpoche through profound tantric practice.
