Why this Statue?
This extraordinary piece transforms any space into a sanctuary of divine feminine energy, serving as a powerful focal point for meditation, manifestation practices, and cultivating loving-kindness in daily life.
Who is Kurukulla?
Kurukulla, also known as Red Tara (Tibetan: Rigjyedma), is a prominent dakini in Tibetan Buddhism, venerated across all four Buddhist schools, as well as in Hinduism and other traditions. Her worship is associated with bringing wealth, well-being, and power to devotees. Her name means "she who is the cause of knowledge". At the ultimate level, she embodies Prajnaparamita, the Perfection of Wisdom.
Divine Features and Sacred Posture
This magnificent statue captures Kurukulla in her iconic dancing pose, her body gracefully bent in the lalitasana position, symbolizing dynamic spiritual energy in motion. Her four arms move with purposeful elegance—two hands drawing back her flower-adorned bow while the others hold sacred implements of transformation. Her piercing blue eyes, framed by an ornate golden crown topped with dancing flames, gaze with both fierce determination and boundless compassion. The intricate details of her jewelry and flowing garments speak to the masterful artisanship of Nepalese craftsmen.
Sacred Symbolism and Meaning
This statue represents the Buddhist principle of skillful magnetization—the ability to attract positive circumstances and guide beings toward dharma through love rather than force. Kurukulla's red complexion symbolizes the fire of passionate wisdom, while her dancing posture embodies the joyful liberation that comes from embracing both worldly and spiritual love as paths to awakening.
Sanskrit and Buddhist Wisdom
In Vajrayana Buddhism, Kurukulla is known as "Kurukulle" in Sanskrit, meaning "she who binds with compassion." Her practice stems from the Guhyasamaja Tantra, where she represents the wisdom aspect of enlightened activity, transforming desire into the path of liberation.
Sacred Mantra
“Om Kurukulla Hrih Svaha”
