Why This Statue?
Standing 26.3 cm tall and weighing a substantial 3 kg, this statue makes its presence undeniably felt. Hand-cast using Nepal's revered lost-wax method, the copper body captures extraordinary sculptural detail across every arm, ornament, and flame. The 24K gold gilding delivers a luminous, enduring finish, while vivid acrylic fire painting electrifies the mandorla with raw spiritual intensity. Rare, refined, and powerfully alive.
Who Is Vajrakilaya?
Vajrakilaya, known in Sanskrit as Vajrakumāra — "the Indestructible Youth" — is one of the eight principal wrathful deities of Vajrayana Buddhism. Especially revered in the Nyingma tradition, he is the supreme deity of enlightened activity, wielding the sacred three-bladed kīla dagger to pierce and annihilate all negative forces, karmic obstacles, and spiritual interference.
A Whirlwind of Wrathful Grace: Key Features
Three fierce faces — each expressing a different wrathful emotion — blaze with three eyes apiece, seeing through all illusions across every realm of existence. His multiple arms fan outward dynamically, holding vajras, kīla daggers, and ritual implements, radiating unstoppable energy in every direction. Embracing his consort Diptacakra in yab-yum union, he dances upon defeated demons in a wide warrior stance — symbolizing the inseparability of wisdom and compassionate action.
Sacred Symbolism and Meaning
The three-bladed kīla dagger at his heart represents the destruction of the three poisons — ignorance, desire, and aversion. His union with his consort embodies the non-dual nature of bliss and emptiness. The blazing fire halo surrounding him purifies all karmic obscurations, while his multiple faces reflect omniscient awareness across all directions and realms.
Sanskrit and Buddhist Wisdom
The Vajrakilaya Tantra declares: "Through the power of the kīla, all hindrances are vanquished and the path to liberation is cleared." Guru Padmasambhava himself transmitted this practice to Tibet, proclaiming Vajrakilaya the most essential deity for removing obstacles in degenerate times — making this statue especially meaningful for modern practitioners.
Sacred Mantra
“Om Vajra Kili Kilaya Sarva Vighnan Bam Hum Phat”
"Om, Vajrakilaya, destroy all obstacles — Hum Phat!" Chanting this mantra channels Vajrakilaya's diamond-sharp energy directly into one's practice, swiftly dissolving blockages and purifying the path toward enlightenment with unstoppable, compassionate force.
