Why this Statue?
This exceptional masterpiece brings the purifying presence of Vajrasattva into your sacred space, serving as a powerful focal point for meditation and daily purification practices, transforming your spiritual journey toward enlightenment.
Who is Vajrasattva?
Vajrasattva (Tibetan: Dorje Sempa), the "Diamond Being" in Sanskrit, is revered as the primordial Buddha of purification in Vajrayana Buddhism. This luminous deity embodies the transformative power of purification, serving as the ultimate cleanser of negative karma and spiritual obstacles. Throughout Nepal and Tibet, Vajrasattva is invoked for his ability to restore spiritual purity and guide practitioners toward enlightenment.
The Purifier's Perfect Form
This sublime Vajrasattva sits in vajrasana, the diamond posture of unshakeable meditation, embodying absolute purity and indestructible wisdom. His serene countenance radiates compassion, with half-closed eyes that see beyond all defilements to the pristine nature of consciousness itself. His right hand holds the vajra (diamond thunderbolt) at his heart—the symbol of indestructible reality—while his left gracefully cradles the ghanta (ritual bell) at his hip, representing wisdom's perfect sound that awakens beings from ignorance. The five-pointed crown adorning his head symbolizes the five transcendent wisdoms of perfect enlightenment.
Sacred Symbolism and Meaning
Every detail reflects the profound practice of purification. The vajra represents skillful means and the masculine principle of compassion, while the bell embodies prajna wisdom and the feminine principle of emptiness. Together, they symbolize the union of method and wisdom—the heart of tantric realization. His pristine white complexion signifies the purified mind, free from all karmic stains and mental obscurations.
Sanskrit and Buddhist Wisdom
In Sanskrit, Vajrasattva means "diamond being" or "thunderbolt hero"—the Buddha of purification who cleanses negative karma through the power of the four opponent forces: regret, reliance, remedy, and resolve.
Sacred Mantra
“Om Vajrasattva Hum”
