Why this Statue?
Meticulously crafted from premium copper with 24-karat gold gilding, this statue features hand-painted details in traditional mineral pigments. Semi-precious stones accent the crown and robes, while the double lotus base showcases intricate repoussé metalwork—a testament to Nepal's unparalleled Buddhist artistic heritage.
Who is Sakyamuni Buddha?
Sakyamuni Buddha, born Prince Siddhartha Gautama around 563 BCE, became the historical founder of Buddhism after achieving perfect enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. Known as the "Sage of the Sakya Clan," he transcended the cycle of suffering through profound realization of the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. His teachings, preserved for over 2,500 years, continue to guide millions toward liberation from suffering, making him one of history's most influential spiritual teachers and the embodiment of compassion and wisdom.
Divine Craftsmanship
The Buddha sits in perfect padmasana (lotus position), embodying unwavering meditation and spiritual stability. His serene, half-closed eyes reflect the inner vision of awakening—gazing beyond the material world into infinite wisdom. The right hand gracefully touches the earth in Bhumisparsha Mudra, the earth-touching gesture, while the left rests in Dhyana Mudra upon his lap, symbolizing meditation and inner peace.
Sacred Symbolism and Meaning
This pose immortalizes the moment when Buddha called upon Mother Earth to witness his enlightenment, defeating Mara's temptations. The ornate lotus throne represents purity rising from worldly suffering, while the intricate patterns adorning his robes symbolize the interconnectedness of all existence. Each decorative element tells the story of spiritual transformation.
Sanskrit and Buddhist Wisdom
In Sanskrit, "Sakyamuni" means "Sage of the Sakyas," honoring Buddha's royal lineage before his spiritual awakening. This statue embodies the Dharma (universal truth) and invites contemplation of the Four Noble Truths.
Sacred Mantra
