Why This Statue?

This six-armed Manjushri is genuinely extraordinary. The acrylic hand-painted deep crimson-red body — a rare and powerful form of Manjushri rarely seen in standard collections — blazes against gold-plated crown, ornaments, and lotus throne with dramatic, sacred intensity. The multi-armed composition creates a complex, visually dynamic silhouette that rewards every viewing with new layers of iconographic detail. Cast using the ancient lost wax method at 34 cm tall and 4.10 kg, this is a boldly statement-making altar centerpiece of exceptional sculptural and devotional power.

Who Is Manjushri?

Manjushri, (Tibetan: Jampalyang), "Gentle Glory" — is the Bodhisattva of wisdom, learning, and enlightened intelligence in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. Considered the most ancient and exalted of all Bodhisattvas, he attained Buddhahood countless aeons ago yet chose to remain in Bodhisattva form to guide all beings toward wisdom and liberation. Revered across Tibet, Nepal, China, and Japan, he is the supreme patron of scholars, philosophers, and all sincere seekers of liberating truth.

Key Features: Posture, Eyes, and Hands

This six-armed Manjushri is seated in padmasana — the full lotus posture — with the upright authority of a being whose mind rests in perfect, luminous clarity. His acrylic hand-painted eyes are wide, alert, and fierce — carrying the penetrating quality of awareness that cuts directly through all conceptual deception to the luminous nature of reality itself. His primary right hand raises the Prajñākhadga — the flaming wisdom sword — high above his head in a decisive stroke that severs the root of all ignorance. His primary left hand is raised in abhaya mudrā — the gesture of fearlessness — granting protection from all fears of the awakening path. His additional four hands hold the bow and arrow of focused intention, the lotus bearing the Prajñāpāramitā scripture, and further implements of enlightened activity, together representing the complete, multi-dimensional arsenal of wisdom deployed for the liberation of all beings.

Sacred Symbolism and Meaning

The crimson-red body of this rare Manjushri form represents the fire of prajñā — discriminating wisdom so fierce and so pure that it burns through every layer of conceptual obscuration without leaving a single residue. Six arms signify his mastery of the six pāramitās — generosity, ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom — the complete path to enlightenment embodied in a single, dynamic, multi-armed form. The gold-plated ornaments and throne reflect the sovereign, inexhaustible richness of fully awakened intelligence radiating in all directions.

Sanskrit and Buddhist Wisdom

The Mañjuśrī-nāma-saṃgīti proclaims: "He whose wisdom is like the rising sun, dispelling the darkness of ignorance across all worlds simultaneously without effort or interruption." The Vimalakirti Sūtra depicts Manjushri as the only Bodhisattva whose wisdom equals the enlightened layman Vimalakirti — a testament to his supreme, unmatched depth of realisation across all traditions.

Sacred Mantra

“Om A Ra Pa Ca Na Dhih”

"Salutations to Manjushri — may the wisdom that perceives the true nature of all phenomena be fully awakened within my mind, cutting through all ignorance and confusion completely."
