Raise the Sword of Wisdom | Manjushri Statue, Handcrafted In Nepal
Golden, dynamic, and commanding, this magnificent Nepalese Manjushri captures the Bodhisattva of wisdom at his most powerful — sword raised, lotus blooming, and divine intelligence blazing forth to illuminate every corner of the mind and space it graces.
Why This Statue?
This Manjushri is immediately striking in its warm, oxidized golden-amber body — a distinctive earthy tone that sets it apart from conventional bright-gold statues and lends it an ancient, timeless gravitas. The ivory-white upraised sword, vivid crimson lotus bloom, and turquoise, red coral, and lapis lazuli inlays across the crown and garments create extraordinary chromatic richness. Cast through the lost wax method over solid copper by Nepal's finest Newar artisans, this is wisdom art at its most arresting.

Who Is Manjushri?
Manjushri, "Gentle Glory" or "Sweet Splendor", is the Bodhisattva of transcendent wisdom and intelligence in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. He embodies prajna — the razor-sharp discriminating awareness that perceives reality exactly as it is, cutting through the deepest layers of ignorance, confusion, and delusion with flawless precision.
Key Features: Eyes, Hands, and Sacred Posture
Manjushri's confident, slightly wide eyes gaze forward with the focused clarity of one who sees all phenomena without distortion or doubt. His raised right hand wields the Prajnaparamita sword — flaming with wisdom fire — high above his head, poised to sever ignorance at its very root. His left hand, resting near his heart, holds the stem of a blooming red lotus upon which rests the Prajnaparamita scripture. Seated in padmasana (full lotus posture) upon an ornate lotus throne, his youthful, jewel-adorned form radiates the tireless, joyful energy of wisdom perpetually in action.
Sacred Symbolism and Meaning
The flaming sword is Manjushri's supreme emblem — wisdom so sharp and swift it severs the root of avidya (ignorance) in a single stroke. The red lotus bearing the scripture declares that wisdom blooms purely from compassion's heart. Lapis inlays evoke the depth of space-like awareness; turquoise channels clarity; red coral radiates the life-force that sustains wisdom's pursuit through lifetimes of dedicated practice and study.
Sanskrit and Buddhist Wisdom
The Manjushrinamasamgiti proclaims: "Manjushri is the mother of all Buddhas — from prajna, all enlightenment is born." His sword does not destroy — it liberates, slicing away every false belief that obscures the mind's natural, luminous, already-perfect clarity.
Sacred Mantra
“Om Ah Ra Pa Tsa Na Dhih”
Meaning: "Om — invoking Manjushri's five syllables of wisdom — Dhih, the seed syllable that awakens discriminating intelligence and sharpens the mind toward enlightenment."
