Why This Statue?
At over 41 cm tall and 5.70 kg, this Vajrasattva commands any altar with authority. The sweeping gemstone-encrusted aureole — densely set with turquoise, red coral, lapis, and white stones — creates a halo of extraordinary richness. The 24K gold finish glows with warm brilliance, while the hand-painted face achieves a refined serenity rarely seen in mass-produced pieces. This is heirloom-quality sacred art.
Who Is Vajrasattva?
Vajrasattva — Dorje Sempa in Tibetan, meaning "Diamond Being" or "Thunderbolt-Minded One" — is the supreme deity of purification in Vajrayana Buddhism. Regarded as the embodiment of all Buddhas' purified mind, he is the primary practice for cleansing broken vows, negative karma, and spiritual obscurations accumulated across lifetimes.
Key Features: Eyes, Hands, and Sacred Posture
The serene, half-lidded hand-painted eyes emanate pristine awareness — pure, unwavering, and utterly forgiving. His right hand holds a golden vajra (thunderbolt) pressed at his heart, symbolizing indestructible wisdom. His left hand rests at his hip, cradling a ghanta (bell), representing the union of wisdom and compassion. A turquoise mala drapes elegantly across his form. Seated in full lotus on a double-lotus throne, his upright posture radiates unshakeable spiritual purity and royal dignity.
Sacred Symbolism and Meaning
The vajra is Buddhism's most potent symbol — indestructible, precise, and all-penetrating. Together with the bell, it represents the inseparable unity of skillful means and wisdom. The jeweled aureole embodies the boundless radiance of purified merit. Turquoise offers healing, coral channels vital energy, and lapis lazuli mirrors the stainless expanse of the awakened mind.
Sanskrit and Buddhist Wisdom
The Vajrasattva Tantra teaches that his hundred-syllable mantra is the most powerful purification practice in all of Vajrayana — capable of purifying even the heaviest karmic obscurations when recited with genuine regret and resolve. Tibetan masters prescribe 100,000 recitations as a foundational ngöndro practice, preparing the mind for the deepest tantric teachings.
Sacred Mantra
“Om Vajrasattva Hum”
"Homage To The Diamond Being, So Be It." This seed mantra invokes Vajrasattva's purifying presence, dissolving negativity at its root and restoring the practitioner's innate purity — the recognition that beneath every stain, the mind was always, already, luminously clean.
