This Chengresi statue represents the pinnacle of Nepalese metalwork artistry. The substantial copper construction ensures durability while maintaining authentic traditional aesthetics. The vibrant acrylic paintings bring life to every detail, from the ornate crown to the delicate lotus throne. Genuine turquoise and coral inlays add precious authenticity, making each piece unique. At 33 centimeters, this statue commands presence without overwhelming your sacred space, perfect for meditation rooms, personal altars, or as a centerpiece in homes seeking spiritual energy.
Who is Chengresi?
Chengresi, known as Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit, embodies the compassion of all Buddhas. As the Bodhisattva of Compassion, Chengresi postponed enlightenment to help all sentient beings escape suffering. Revered throughout the Himalayan region, this deity represents unconditional love and mercy toward all living creatures.
Divine Features and Posture
This four-armed Chengresi sits in vajra position upon a lotus throne, symbolizing purity rising from worldly mud. The serene facial expression with half-closed eyes reflects deep meditative compassion. Two hands join at the heart in anjali mudra, holding a wish-fulfilling jewel, while the upper right hand gracefully holds a crystal mala for counting mantras, and the upper left presents a blooming lotus flower. The ornate five-pointed crown represents the five Buddha families, while precious jewels and ornaments signify spiritual wealth.
Sacred Symbolism and Meaning
Each element carries profound meaning: the four arms represent immeasurable love, compassion, joy, and equanimity. The lotus symbolizes spiritual enlightenment, while the mala represents continuous practice. The wish-fulfilling jewel grants spiritual and material needs to devoted practitioners. This statue serves as a powerful reminder to cultivate compassion in daily life.
Sanskrit and Buddhist Wisdom
The Karandavyuha Sutra declares Chengresi as the embodiment of all Buddhas' compassion. In Mahayana Buddhism, connecting with Chengresi purifies negative karma and opens the heart to universal loving-kindness.
Sacred Mantra
“Om Mani Padme Hum “
"Behold the jewel in the lotus." This six-syllable mantra invokes Chengresi's blessings, purifying suffering and cultivating wisdom and compassion within the practitioner's heart.
