Who Is Green Tara?
Green Tara, (Tibetan: Sgrol-ljang) — "She Who Liberates" — is Buddhism's swift goddess of compassion and protection. Born from Avalokiteshvara's compassionate tears, she vowed to remain in female form, tirelessly working to relieve the suffering of all beings across every realm of existence.

Her right hand reaches forward in Varada Mudra, the gesture of boundless generosity, while her left delicately holds the stem of a blue utpala lotus.
