Why this Statue?

This masterpiece brings authentic Himalayan craftsmanship into your sacred space, serving as a powerful meditation focus and daily reminder of compassion's transformative power.

Who is Chengresi?

Chengresi, known as Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit, is the embodiment of infinite compassion in Buddhist tradition. This beloved bodhisattva is revered across Tibet, Nepal, and the Himalayan regions as the patron deity of compassion, watching over all sentient beings with unwavering love and mercy.

Divine Features and Sacred Posture

This exquisite statue showcases Chengresi's four arms in perfect harmony—two hands joined at the heart in prayer mudra, symbolizing devotion. In contrast, the upper hands gracefully hold a crystal mala and lotus flower, representing purification and enlightenment. The deity sits in meditative lotus position, crowned with an ornate five-pointed diadem representing the five wisdoms. The serene, blue-tinged face radiates peace, with half-closed eyes gazing compassionately upon all beings seeking liberation from suffering.

Sacred Symbolism and Meaning

Each element carries profound meaning: the lotus throne symbolizes purity rising from worldly attachments, while the elaborate aureole represents divine radiance. The four arms signify Chengresi's ability to help countless beings simultaneously, embodying the bodhisattva's vow never to rest until all achieve enlightenment.

Sanskrit and Buddhist Wisdom

In Buddhist philosophy, Chengresi represents karuna (compassion) personified. The Lotus Sutra describes this bodhisattva as one who "regards the cries of the world" with infinite patience and love, guiding practitioners toward nirvana.
