Deep Blue and Blazing Gold | Vajradhara Statue That Embodies the Ultimate Source of All Tantric Wisdom
Midnight blue, jewel-crowned, and holding the universe's most sacred secret at his heart, this magnificent Nepalese Vajradhara is the primordial Buddha himself — the thunderbolt-bearer whose stillness contains the totality of all enlightened experience.
Why This Statue?
This Vajradhara is genuinely rare in its dramatic visual impact. Its deep blue-black body — the color of infinite space — contrasts breathtakingly against warm gold plating, rich terracotta robes, and a teal lotus throne. Turquoise and red coral inlays jewel the crown and ornaments with authentic Himalayan brilliance, while the crossed-arm gesture at the heart is rendered with remarkable sculptural precision. Cast through the ancient lost wax method over solid copper by Nepal's master Newar artisans, this is primordial Buddhism made tangible.

Who Is Vajradhara?
Vajradhara — "Holder of the Thunderbolt" in Sanskrit — is regarded in the Kagyu and Gelug traditions as the Adibuddha: the primordial, self-arising Buddha who embodies the dharmakaya — the ultimate truth body of all enlightenment. He is the supreme source from whom all Vajrayana teachings and tantric transmissions eternally flow.
Key Features: Eyes, Hands, and Sacred Posture
Vajradhara's serene, gold-painted eyes gaze inward with the unshakeable composure of one who has always been awake. His arms cross at the heart in vajrahumkara mudra — his right hand gripping the vajra (thunderbolt) and left the ghanta (bell) — the profound gesture unifying wisdom and compassion, emptiness and bliss. Seated in perfect padmasana upon a richly painted lotus throne, his upright, jewel-adorned form radiates the sovereign stillness of the primordial ground itself.
Sacred Symbolism and Meaning
The deep blue body represents dharmakaya — the boundless, empty, luminous nature of mind itself. The vajra embodies indestructible wisdom; the ghanta rings with the sound of emptiness. Turquoise inlays evoke sky-like awareness; red coral channels the warmth of compassion's vital energy. Together, they render this statue a complete expression of Vajrayana's ultimate teaching: wisdom and compassion are inseparable.
Sanskrit and Buddhist Wisdom
The Guhyasamaja Tantra reveals: "Vajradhara, the great bliss, is the nature of all phenomena." He does not merely represent enlightenment — according to Vajrayana teaching, Vajradhara is the enlightened state, primordially present and eternally available to those who recognize their own nature.
Sacred Mantra
“Om Ah Vajradhara Hum Phat”
Meaning: "Om, the primordial vajra-holder, Ah (body, speech, mind), Hum (indestructible awareness), Phat (may all obstacles be severed)."
