Why This Statue?

This Green Tara delivers exceptional artisanship in a beautifully compact form. The acrylic hand-painted emerald-green body glows with natural vitality against richly painted crimson robes, while 24K gold-plated crown and ornaments gleam with warm authority. A distinctive silver-plated finish on select elements — including the lotus stems and throne accents — adds a rare, cool luminosity that contrasts beautifully with the gold. Turquoise and red coral inlays punctuate the crown and jewellery with vivid gemstone colour. Cast using the lost wax method, every carved detail is masterfully rendered despite the intimate scale.

Who Is Green Tara?

Green Tara, (Tibetan: Drolma), is the swift-acting goddess of compassion, protection, and liberation in Vajrayana Buddhism. Born from a compassionate tear of Avalokiteśvara, she vowed to remain in feminine form across every lifetime until all beings attained enlightenment. Beloved across Tibet, Nepal, and Mongolia as the most responsive protectress in the Buddhist pantheon, she is invoked to overcome the eight great fears, remove obstacles swiftly, and guide beings toward liberation with the urgency and tenderness of a mother's love.

Key Features: Posture, Eyes, and Hands

Green Tara is seated in lalitāsana — the posture of royal ease — her right leg extended forward, perpetually poised to rise and act without a single moment's delay. Her acrylic hand-painted eyes are alert and tenderly direct, holding every viewer in a gaze of warm, immediate compassion that feels both personal and boundless simultaneously. Her right hand rests on her knee in varada mudrā — the open gesture of boundless generosity and wish-fulfilment — while her left is raised in vitarka mudrā, the gesture of fearless protection, holding a silver-stemmed lotus bud representing the imminent blossoming of enlightenment within every being.

Sacred Symbolism and Meaning

Green Tara's emerald body embodies enlightened activity — dynamic, responsive compassion that never hesitates. Her extended right leg is her most iconic iconographic statement: she does not wait to be asked twice. The silver lotus stems she holds carry their own symbolism — silver in Vajrayana represents the moon's cooling, healing clarity, perfectly complementing gold's solar warmth. Together they reflect the union of wisdom and compassion, the inseparable heart of all enlightened action across every realm and every time.

Sanskrit and Buddhist Wisdom

The Tārā Mūla Tantra proclaims: "She who saves with a single glance — whose compassion moves faster than thought, whose protection reaches further than the sky itself." The revered master Atiśa credited every realisation he attained directly to Green Tara's guidance, regarding her as his supreme root teacher above all human masters throughout his entire life.

Sacred Mantra

“Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha”

"I invoke Tara — she who liberates from suffering, fear, and all obstacles — may her boundless swift compassion flow freely and completely to all beings without exception."
